Hello divas! It is finally Friday and I for one and so glad that the weekend is almost here. I look forward to actually being in town and not doing much besides a couple of runs, some cleaning/organizing around the house and working on the blog a bit. After the busy holiday weekend last weekend, it will be great.
Since it’s Friday, that means it’s time for another edition of 5 Things Friday here at Divas Run for Bling. I love this series every Friday when I can share 5 things on my mind. I usually link up with Courtney at Eat Pray Run DC, Cynthia at Your Signed Up for What and Mar at Mar on the Run for their Friday 5 Linkup.
This week’s theme is what’s in my gym bag. Well to be honest I don’t have a gym bag. I don’t go to the gym. My weight training and cross training is done in the comfort of my living room and I run outside. So instead of what’s in my gym bag, today I am sharing my 5 things I never run without.
Cute running clothing. I will be the first to tell you that I am one of those people whose clothing must match. I admit it – I’m a bit Type A. And the cuter the better. The summer brings running skirts and sunglasses and tank tops. While the winter has me in fleece headbands, pants/skirts combo, and gloves. And I love my Swirlgear tops and tutus for races, no matter what season.
Iphone. I take my iPhone with me for 2 reasons. One so I can call someone if I get injured or lost. And 2, so I have my music with me. I have a hard time running without my tunes. See my tips to create your long run playlist.
Garmin. I know there are apps out there that do similar things as my Garmin, but they tend to make my battery on my phone run down much quicker than normal. So I love my trusty Garmin Forerunner 10 (in pink of course). It lets me know my pace and distance and even dings when it is time to run or walk during my run/walk intervals. Find out more on why I love the run/walk method of running.
RooSport pocket. This is by far my favorite piece of running gear this year at this point. It isn’t bulky or cumbersome like some fuel belts are. It’s waterproof, sweatproof and can attach to any clothing. And it’s great for keeping my ID, energy gels phone on me while I run. Check out my review of the RooSport Pocket.
Water bottle. The last thing I never run without is my water bottle. For my shorter runs, I will leave it by my mailbox so every time I pass my house, I can take a sip if I need to. For my longer runs, it goes with me so that I can stay hydrated while running along. It is typically filled with Ignite Naturals IN Refresh electrolytes which is fabulous because it gives me the electrolytes I need to keep me going but without all the carbs and sugars that is found in sports drinks. For the long runs when I need the carbs, I have my gels and such.
I love hearing from all my readers. What things do you never workout without?
