Hello divas! I hope that you had a fabulous weekend and are ready for a great week ahead. I spent the week in Savannah (yes there was a race lol) and am so glad to be home. Though now it’s a little difficult to get back into the swing of things. I am also thrilled that the temperatures are also feeling much more seasonal as opposed to like how September should have been. One of the things I like best about fall is the food – especially apples and pumpkins. You can use them in so many ways for so many easy healthy recipes this time of year. I also love to snack. Which is why today I am sharing my peanut butter apple pie smoothie.
As you probably have seen in several of my healthy recipes here at Divas Run for Bling, I am a big fan of peanut butter. But sometimes it can be a little difficult to use in those recipes. This is where peanut butter powder comes into play. It makes adding peanut butter to recipes a snap as it is easier to measure and blend.
The recipe itself is easy to make. You simply start by chopping up a couple of your favorite type of apples. I chose Granny Smith for this recipe but I also like Arkansas Black, Macintosh or Pink Lady apples as well. From there you put the apple slices into a blender and add some milk. For this, I really like vanilla almond milk but any milk would work. I added a scoop of vanilla protein powder (I use the Vanilla Shakeology as my powder of choice), 2 tablespoons of my favorite peanut butter powder (though any nut butter works), and 1 tablespoon of some pumpkin pie spice. I blended this mixture until smooth, added a bit of ice to make it a frozen drink and poured it into my glass to enjoy.
