Hello divas! I hope that you are having a fabulous week so far and that it is starting to feel like fall where you are. Our mornings here in Tennessee are quite cool though it is still warm in the afternoons. One thing I love about fall, however, is football. And with football comes tailgating and, my favorite, buffalo wings. So today I am sharing an easy healthy recipe – my buffalo wings and cauliflower bites with my homemade buffalo sauce using El Yucateco Hot Sauce.
I am a big fan of El Yucateco hot sauces as they all use habanero peppers to create the hotness and spiciness this girl loves with her buffalo sauce. For the purpose of this recipe, I used the El Yucateco Red Habanero Hot Sauce with its fresh red habanero peppers, tomato, and select spices and seasonings. This is a fabulous all purpose type of hot sauce and fits perfectly with my homemade buffalo sauce.
To start this recipe for my tailgate, I took a trip to my local Walmart to pick up the ingredients. I found El Yucateco on the International Foods aisle with all the habanero and taco sauces and peppers. While I used the red habanero sauce in my recipe, I also picked up a bottle of the Green Habanero Hot Sauce and the Black Label Reserve Hot Sauce to try with some other recipes at a later date.
The recipe itself is super easy and much healthier than typical wings and cauliflower bites as I grilled them instead of breading and frying them. The first thing I did was prepare the sauce by mixing all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
I then coated the wings and cauliflower bites and set aside to marinate.
Once the grill was ready, I put them on the grill and cooked for about 20 minutes or so. You will want to make sure that the wings cook all the way through before removing them.
Once done, you are ready to serve. I had some leftover sauce that can be used to coat the wings and bites if desired. I also use ranch dressing as a dipping sauce but it would also be good with a blue cheese dip as well.
