Hello divas! I hope that your week is going well so far. A few weeks ago I shared 5 Healthy Living Tips from the Dog (Dixie sure is smart). Not to be outdone, my two cats Ilori and Dakarai are also good teachers in how to enjoy life. They love to share their cat life lessons with my husband and I. So I thought it would be fun to share 5 lessons for a happy life – from the cat.
Take a nap. Pets are so good about resting when they are tired. It doesn’t matter the time of day or the location, my cats love nothing more than to curl up somewhere and take a catnap. They remind us that being well rested in important to having a happy life. And there are so many healthy benefits of napping.
Be curious. Cats are some of the most curious animals I have ever seen. They see something they are not sure of and go to investigate. Like cats, we can learn to try new things. If a new workout or recipe peaks our interest, don’t be afraid to give it a try.
Failures are not a big deal. I have seen the cats try to do things a fail so many times in their lives. They fall off of things, try to climb curtains and don’t make it, get stuck in strange places. But they never stop trying. Don’t be afraid to fail. You never know what you can accomplish until you try.
Go after what you want. One thing I admire about cats is that once they decide they want something, they go after it with abandon. Whether it’s food, a toy or simply attention they are looking for, once they find it they do not stop until they get it. Like cats, we should set goals and go after them no matter what it takes.
Attitude is everything. Cats are little divas which I think is why I love them so much :). They are independent and unique. They are not afraid of what others think of them. In life, it is important for us to know what our talents are and celebrate what makes us unique individuals. It is also important to believe in yourself. If you believe you can do it, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.
