Hello divas! I hope that your week has gotten off to a fantastic start. I started physical therapy yesterday so I am super excited to be on the mend and can start getting back to my fitness. I still have to take it slow but at least I can get outdoors and off the couch.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and I have already begun making plans for the big day with the hubby. We are both active so there is usually something sweat worthy involved with a lot of our dates. With that in mind, I thought I would share some fitness tips and date ideas for fitness buffs that you and your significant other can do together on Valentine’s Day (or any other time you want).
Hiking. The hubby and I love to go hiking. We live in the mountains here in Tennessee so there is lots of pretty scenery to be had. We usually try to make a day of it and take a picnic lunch and just hang out in nature for a while.
Winter activities. Depending on where you live, this my be another fun option for an active date. There are lots of fun winter fitness activities from building a snowman to a snowball fight to ice skating or getting cozy on a sled together. Unfortunately, there is no snow here in Tennessee at the moment so many of these are out for us.
Yoga. I love yoga because it is one of many indoor fitness activities you can do when it’s too cold for anything else. It relaxes you and, depending on the type you are doing, can be a fabulous full-body workout. This time of year, many studios offer couples’ yoga classes where you do poses that require two people. It’s a great way to get up close and personal with your valentine :).
Dancing. Dancing is also a great way to spend some time getting close. Whether you are out at a club or taking a ballroom dancing class, you and your honey get to spend time in each other’s arms. Latin ballroom dances (salsa, tango, cha-cha, etc) are especially sexy.
Go for a run (or walk). The hubby and I are both runners so when all else fails, we like to go for a run. A great option for this is to run a Valentine’s Day themed race or just take a leisurely run (or walk) around some of your favorite sites or meaningful spots in your relationship. He proposed in downtown Chattanooga overlooking the river so a run across all the bridges would be a great option for us.
