Hello divas and happy Friday! We made it through another week and it’s time for a 3-day weekend. Woo hoo! And since it is Friday, this means that it is time for another edition of 5 Things Friday here at Divas Run for Bling. I participate in the Friday Five link up each week with Eat Pray Run DC, Mar on the Run and You Signed Up for What and this week is no different.
This week’s them is “Fall Preview.” If you have been reading my blog over the past couple of months, you know that I have begun training for my fall races. – 5 half marathons to be exact. So today I am sharing my fall race preview of the races that I plan to run over the next few months.
Divas Half Marathon. The first race of the season is a week from tomorrow (Sept. 6th). I will be running the Divas Half Marathon in Peachtree City, GA (just outside of Atlanta) and am super excited. I mean if there is a “typical Heather race,” it would be this one and/or the Princess Half at Disney World. And you can’t go wrong with a blingy medal, tiara, boa, champagne toast, and long-stemmed rose at the end of the race. Oh and lots of pink. I love pink.
Women’s Running Half Marathon. Next on the schedule is the Women’s Running Half Marathon in Nashville on Sept. 27th. I have been named a Runspirational for this race and thrilled to be given this opportunity. I will be blogging from the expo and sharing photos of the race on social media. Not to mention my typical race recap afterwards. I love this race because it is another women’s race, but this time in Nashville, home of country music. I love the medal (super cute) and the fact that they are having sweets and yoga at the finish area. Heaven knows I will need a good stretch after I am done. Oh and if you want to join me in the half (it’s walker friendly as well), you can get $10 off your registration is you use the code WRSHEATHER.
4 Bridges Half Marathon. After Nashville, I get to come home and do a local race here in Chattanooga on Oct. 19th, the 4 Bridges Half Marathon. I really like this race because it shows off my fabulous city. There are 7 bridges in the Scenic City (4 of which I get to run over during the race). It is small, which is not my favorite, but it is very pretty. And local.
Chickamauga Battlefield Half Marathon. Just a few weeks later, I enter the home stretch of my half marathon schedule to run the Chickamauga Battlefield Half Marathon on Nov. 8th just down the road from me in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. This is another small race but it takes place on the historic civil war battlefield which means I will be surrounded by cannons and monuments. How cool is that?
Rock n’ Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon. And finally my two boys (my hubby and bestie) are traveling to Vegas to run the strip at night on Nov. 16th in the Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon Las Vegas. I have never been to Vegas so this is going to be one of the coolest races I have run. I am thrilled with all the runner perks and the fact that it is a night race which is a little different. Not to mention it will be nice to get away to the desert that time of year.
