Hello divas and happy Friday! It is the end of another week (finally). I hope yours has been fabulous. Since it is Friday, this means it is time for another edition of 5 Things Friday here at Divas Run for Bling.
Each week I link up with Cynthia from You Signed Up for What, Mar from Mar on the Run and Courtney from Eat Pray Run DC for their Friday 5 Linkup. This week’s theme is Fitness Snapshots. Basically I am sharing photos about how I stayed active this week. It has been a pretty good week for me activity wise so here are my fitness snapshots July 11th edition.
Me and Shaun T. After my experience with the INSANITY class at Fitbloggin, I decided that I really needed to add some of it into my workout regimen. While I don’t feel like I am anywhere ready for the full INSANITY program, I did grab a copy of the INSANITY Fast and Furious DVD Workout which is basically a 20 minute version of INSANITY. That went pretty well (though I was modifying some of the moves and was much slower than he is). My hubby even joined in and loved it. So with our anniversary coming up in a couple of weeks, my hubby and I decided that we would invest in the Shaun T’s FOCUS T25 Base Kit – DVD Workout by Shaun T as an anniversary gift to each other. We start it on Monday, though I did break out one of the workouts last night (it totally kicked my butt). I can’t wait to share this 10 week journey with all of you.
OM. I have been loving my subscription to MyYogaWorks. I can stream yoga at anytime to any of my electronic devices as long as there is an internet connection. I especially am loving their Journey Series, where the yoga is divided up by categories. There is a category devoted to yoga for runners that has several 30 minute yoga workouts that stretch all the muscles used when you run. It has been fabulous. (By the way, you can see my review and how to received a free 1 month subscription to try it out for yourself)
Gone for a run. So far this week, there hasn’t been much running. I slacked a bit on Monday. I went out for a run on Tuesday but made it a grand total of 1 mile before it started lightning outside. Rain and thunder I can handle. Lightning not so much. I took Wednesday off altogether (except for a little bit of stretching). I ran 2 miles yesterday evening and this morning. I also plan my “long” run of 3 miles tomorrow (it’s the beginning of my training cycle so it’s still relatively low mileage).
Stairmaster. This week I made it a priority to try to take the stairs at work a little more often. Every little bit helps when it comes to activity and weight loss. I will say that I took them about half the time this week.
Walk the dog. Usually my husband is the one to walk the dog, but yesterday after my T25 workout and dinner, I decided to join him on the walk with Dixie. She just loves all the smells as we walk down the street.
