Hello divas! I hope that your week has gotten off to a great start so far. It has been more like spring here in Tennessee and I am sure summer like weather is just around the corner. And when I think of summer, I think of things like ice cream and those yummy frozen concoctions that many restaurants have this time of year.
While they are oh so delicious, they are typically not a good option for a healthy diet – especially is you are trying to cut back on sugar a bit like I am. I honestly try to only have them occasionally as a treat. So that often leads me to searching for some healthier options I can have at home.
I love my fresh fruit but sometimes it is just so freaking hot and I want something that feels more like a treat than something actually good for me. So today I am sharing another of my easy healthy recipes that is perfect for those hot spring and summer days in particular – my frozen smores latte protein shake.
If you are a regular reader of this blog, you know that I am madly in love with my daily Shakeology nutritional shake as it is a great source of whole nutrition that my body needs each day. I am also a big fan of coffee so the latte flavor of Shakeology is my absolute favorite. But sometimes I just get bored with the same flavor so I have to find new and fun ways to spice up my shakes so to speak. Which is where I came up with the smores flavor. I mean who doesn’t like a good smore? And to mix that with a bit of coffee flavor? Well that sounded pretty darn yummy to me.
Frozen shakes are great for when it is hot outside as it makes you think a bit of ice cream and slushies. This particular shake is easy to make as well – about 5 minutes from start to finish. I started by pouring some dark chocolate almond milk (you can use any chocolate milk you like though) into the bottom of my blender bottle. Next I added a scoop of my Latte Shakeology (though you can use any kind of vanilla or chocolate protein powder and 1 cup of coffee as a substitute), graham crackers and marshmallow fluff. I put filled the rest of the bottle with some water, added some ice and blended it up until smooth. Then I had a fantastic frozen treat that was also healthy!Check out this #yummy frozen smores latte protein shake for a #healthy #summer treat Click To Tweet
