Hello divas! I hope that you are all having a fabulous week so far. Mine has been pretty good but I am glad that this month is winding down.
Why you may ask? Well because March is next. Not only do you get St. Patrick’s Day (I’m part Irish so I LOVE the holiday lol) but you get what is probably one of my favorite times of the year – March Madness. You see I am a HUGE sports fan. I mean the hubby and I had our wedding reception at a baseball game so we must like sports right?
Well basketball is probably one of my faves to watch (after college football of course). And I love tournament time for college hoops. I mean you get rivalry games to end the season, conference tournaments, then the NCAA tournament itself. It’s a basketball fan’s version of paradise lol. But I realize that not everyone is a basketball fan. And let’s not forget to mention all the game day foods involved with game watching. So today I am sharing home healthy living tips for staying sane and healthy during March Madness.
Plan ahead. The most important thing you can do to stay healthy over the next month or so is to plan ahead. Make sure you make time to workout. Plan some of your meals and snacks. If you are going to a party, take some healthier foods to contribute. A little advance planning can go a long way with staying fit and healthy.
Get your sweat on. Don’t forget to get your workout in. Do what you have to to continue to exercise. Plan your gym time during the games so you can sweat while you watch. Go for a run in the mornings so you don’t miss any of the action. If you are watching a game from home, why not do a workout while the game is on?
Snack smart. Game day is filled with all kinds of yummy. I love me some wing or chips and dip. If you are trying to stay healthy, try to have some fruits and veggies to nibble on. Or opt for some lighter snacks such as my sweet potato fries and yogurt dip or mango salsa with baked pita chips.
Take a break. Above all, remember that it is just a game. Take a break to relax every once and a while. Whether that means striking a yoga pose, walking the dog or playing my favorite game of where is the cat this time. This will keep you relaxed and free to enjoy all the fun that surrounds this time of year.Love #basketball? Check out these tips to stay sane and #healthy during #marchmadness #fitnessClick To Tweet
