Hello divas! I hope that your week has gotten off to a fantastic start so far. Mine has been pretty good. I had a pretty low-key weekend at home, though I was dealing with some sinus and allergy issues.
The weather here in Tennessee has been crazy. A few days of spring followed by more seasonal weather has done a number on me to say the least. Which leads me to today’s post. March is almost here, and with it (hopefully) will be spring.
I really love spring with all the warmer weather, longer days and flowers blooming. It’s a great time to get motivated or restart some of those New Year’s resolutions that that have not survived the winter. So today I am sharing 5 smart strategies to help you and your family have a healthy spring.
Get outside. The great outdoors is a great thing this time of year. The weather is not too hot and not too cold. The days are longer, giving you more time to get out there and absorb some good old natural vitamin D. The ideas of outdoors activities is endless. Visit the zoo. Go to the park. Have a picnic. Just enjoy being outside.
Plan active activities. While you are outside, plan some activities that help you get moving. Hiking is one of my favorite things to do in the spring because I get some exercise in while practicing my photography with all the colors outside. It is also a great time for some running or walking, playing basketball or soccer or even some early morning yoga. Just a little bit of fitness can help.
Eat seasonally. This is probably one of the easiest times of year to eat healthy. There are so many yummy fruits and veggies that are in season. Enjoy them all. Take some of your fave veggies and make a yummy stir-fry or add them to a pizza. Make a healthy pasta salad for a lighter dinner or lunch option. And for dessert, some fresh berries and lite cool whip is a great option.
Spring cleaning. Finally this is the time of year to get some spring cleaning in. Get your yearly medical check-up to make sure all is still going well. Clean the house to air it out and get rid of some of those icky things that affect your allergies. Clean out the pantry and fridge to get rid of those foods which aren’t good for you. Take a look at your life and decide what needs to go to help you be both healthy and happy.
