Hello divas! I hope that you had a fabulous holiday weekend and are ready to get back in the groove this week. Mine has been pretty good as I am slowly getting back into the swing of things now that I am in physical therapy for my injury.
And I am finally getting back to a normal routine for my healthy eating and fitness. After a blah few months (and a not so fun foot injury, it is great that I have found some workouts that help keep me motivated to be healthy. But it is not always easy. So today I am sharing some fitness tips to help you learn to love fitness.
Find something you love. This is probably the most important tip I can give you to learn to love your workouts. If you are not enjoying what you are doing, you will not stick with it in the long-term. You will want to find something you can have fun doing and that works for you. I love running. It works for me (mostly). But I know that there are others out there who avoid running like the plague. That’s fine – the important thing is what makes you happy. And Beachbody has so many different types of program that there is something for everyone. I especially love the on demand where I can stream any of the Beachbody workouts any time I want. This keeps me from getting too bored with my workouts as well.
Start slow. It has been said that Rome wasn’t built in a day. And you won’t be the world’s best fitness freak in a day either. If you are just getting started on your journey, remember to start slow. I didn’t wake up one day and decide to run 13.1 miles. I had to work my way up to it. So will you no matter what activity you decide on. You will need to build up your strength, stamina, and coordination in order to avoid injury. There is nothing that can stop you from loving what you are doing faster than to injure yourself doing it.
Get the right gear. For a lot of exercise, it can be as simple as some comfortable clothing and a pair of athletic shoes. But some activities may require more specialized equipment. If you are taking up running, you will need some good running shoes. If you want to go for a bike ride, you will need a bike. Weight training requires weights. Once you find what you love to do to get your sweat on, make sure you have the right gear.
Make friends. I will be the first to tell you that there are times when I love nothing more than to go for a run by myself to get away from it all. But exercise can be loads of fun if you share it with other like-minded people. Make some fitness friends and get to sweating!
Focus on your journey. Sometimes it can be too easy to compare yourself to others. It can be a let down if you get started on getting fit only to try to measure up to someone else. You will enjoy yourself much more if you focus on you and you get out of your workouts. Focus on how you are improving physically or how your workout makes you feel afterwards. It will put a smile on your face when you reach your goals.Need help staying motivated to #workout? Here are 5 tips to help you love #fitness #fitnesstipsClick To Tweet
