Disclaimer: I was contacted by Jamie Zacharias from MASH Up Conditioning asking to review their TEMPO Workout DVD and run a giveaway of a copy of the DVD. I received a free copy of the TEMPO DVD to review. I received no other compensation for this review and my opinions are my own.
Do you lead a busy life? Have a hard time trying to fit a workout into your schedule? If you are like me then you can answer yes to these questions. I recently had the chance to review MASH Up Conditioning’s TEMPO workout DVD and it is the perfect workout for busy people. If you have 15 minutes, you have time to do this workout.
The DVD has 7 complete 15 minute workouts containing 5 minutes each of Mind/Body, Agility & Strength, and High Intensity Intervals. The workouts are based on the science of high intensity intervals which are 5-6 times as effective as steady state exercise. The format combines Mind/Body, Agility & Strength, and High Intensity Intervals and are designed for 3 different fitness levels for safety and so that everyone can benefit.
When you open up the dvd, you will find both a healthy eating program and a workout guide.
This guide lays out various ways that you can mix and match each of the 15 minutes portions to make a complete workout depending on your goals and the time you have to exercise. There are over 100 ways that you can piece together the 7 tempos to get the workout that you want.
I loved this dvd. Whether it was just one workout for 15 minutes or the combination of several of the workouts for a whole body conditioning workout, it is the perfect for cross-training. Each portion of the workout lasts 5 minutes, starting with the agility and strength portion. This portion does require hand weights so that is something to keep in mind. I don’t have hand weights, but I was able to use my kettlebells for most of the exercises. Next came the High Intensity Intervals to amp up the heart weight. Exercises such as burpees, high knees, squats and lunges without weights are included in this section. Last is the mind/body section which includes yoga, pilates and core exercises.
Each exercise is easy to do and there are three levels of each exercise demonstrated. This makes it easy for anyone to do the exercises depending on your fitness level. I found myself doing level 2 for most of the exercises, but there were a few where I dropped back to level 1.
I recommend this dvd as a great way to add some conditioning to your normal workouts. It fits in well on my cross training days or when the weather makes it really hard to get out and go for a run. You can purchase a copy of the dvd on the MASH Up Conditioning website.
