Hello divas! I hope that you have had a wonderful weekend so far. I have had the chance to get away for Valentine’s Day with the hubby so mine has been relaxing to say the least. Today I want to talk about something that we all face from time to time – the mid-afternoon letdown. You know what I mean. It’s that time of day when you just seem to have absolutely no energy to continue on your daily tasks. Many times when this happens, I would head to the vending machine or get yet another cup of coffee. But there are better ways to cope. Thanks to the folks at Lipton, I am sharing a few of my morning rituals that help me to stay energized all day long.
Give Yourself Time. The most important thing you can do in the mornings is give yourself time to wake up and start the day. Sleeping until the very last minute then rushing out the door helps no one. All it will do is keep your body in a state of flux all day long (and keep it hoping for a nap). You will want to make sure that you have enough time to fully wake up, eat some breakfast and get ready for the day before walking out the door.
Have a cup of tea. Speaking of starting your day off right, I love having a cup of tea in the morning. While many will reach for the coffee, I prefer tea. Especially if it is green tea as it is loaded with antioxidants that are good for the body. Not to mention, tea has JUST enough caffeine in it to help me wake up in the mornings. Lipton Tea has always been my go-to when it comes to tea. I remember growing up always having Lipton Iced tea at every family event. Lipton’s new black and herbal varieties and improved green teas refresh the tea experience with bold and stimulating flavors. Lipton’s updated green teas have a light, fresh taste, bright clearer color and delightful aroma. You can’t go wrong getting your day started off with a warm cup of tea.
Get Your Sweat On. After having my cup of tea to get me started with the day, I try to get a short workout in. Working out in the morning allows the body to wake up and release those endorphins. Which always make me happy and at least somewhat ready to face the day. I mix up the workouts, but cardio based are my favorites in the mornings.
Eat right. Finally, eating a nutritious breakfast and packing healthy snacks are super important to staying energized throughout the day. You want complete meals that will help keep you body moving along and your metabolism going. This will give you the right kind of energy so that there are no afternoon crashes that leave you dead on your feet.
