Hello divas! I hope that you had a fantastic weekend and are ready to get started with another week. Aside from the time spent with family members this weekend, I was also able to spend some time in the kitchen. And you will be glad I did because I have a couple of really fabulous easy healthy recipes to share with you all this week (so stay tuned!). Regular readers of this blog know that I have a serious sweet tooth and really struggle with snacking. As you can imagine, this can sometimes interfere with trying to maintain the healthy lifestyle I want. So I am always trying to find some new, healthy and EASY snack ideas for my to take to work with me for when I am tempted to hit the vending machines. Which is where today’s recipe comes into play. I am sharing my no-bake double chocolate nut butter protein bars.
This recipe was a big hit when I let the hubby try it out. We loved how filling they are and how much healthy goodness is contained in such small bars. For my particular bars, I opted for my vegan chocolate Shakeology as my protein shake, though any chocolate powder will work. What the Shakeology gives me, though, is the additional vitamins and minerals my body needs to help my body function. I also loved that by adding oats to the recipe, they could just as easily be a breakfast bar just as much as a healthy snack.
My favorite part of this recipe, however, is how EASY it is. I mean you simply mix the dry ingredients, then add the nut butter of your choice and the milk of your choice and stir until mixed well. Then you spread in a baking dish and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. After that, you’re done – it’s that easy. The recipe itself makes 16 bars of filling and yummy snacking.
