Hello divas! I hope that you have been having a fantastic holiday weekend so far. I got to spend some time with family yesterday that we don’t get to see often and today I am looking forward to lighting up the grill here at home with the hubby. So it has been a pretty good weekend – even with the insane heat and humidity here in Tennessee. But it’s not too late for a yummy 4th of July meal so I thought I would share another super easy healthy recipe – my family friendly red, white and blueberry spritzer.
When it comes to summer, I am a big fan of spritzers. They are light, sometimes sparkly, and can be perfect for both adults as well as the rest of the family depending on how you like them. These yummy drinks can also be altered to fit your tastes. Some people love the frutiness, others prefer a more herbal taste. Regardless they are perfect for a crowd and work really well with just about anything you want to cook for your summer cookouts and parties.
This particular recipe is one of my favorites. It only takes a couple of minutes to make and only has a few ingredients. The basic recipe is just some lemon-lime soda or ginger ale (I opted for Sprite), a few ice cubes to help it sparkle and bubble up, and some red and blue fruit. I always love my blueberries and opted for some red raspberries in this recipe. Since the hubby and I do not have kids, we made ours a little more adult by adding some white wine (I chose a Riesling), but this is totally optional.
