Welcome to another installment of Recipe Thursday. Typically, I will share a yummy healthy recipe that I have tried this past week, but I will be doing things a little differently today.
In case you haven’t heard, the southeastern part of the U.S. had some snow this week. Which was great because, after 5 hours, I was able to get home from work on Tuesday and had a snow day yesterday. I know my northern and midwestern friends just roll there eyes because we only got an inch or so here in Chattanooga, TN. But for us, it was enough to shut down the city (and thus my 5 hour adventure home). We just never get the elusive white stuff that it’s sort of a big deal. So today, I will be sharing my favorite recipe for snow days – Homemade Snowcream. It is not healthy but it sure is yummy – especially for a southern girl like myself who rarely gets to see snow at my house.
Snow (I used a large mixing bowl full of snow)
1 Cup Sugar
2.5 Cups milk (I used unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk)
Vanilla to taste
Gather the snow from outside (preferably off a deck or car so that it is clean).
Mix all ingredients together and enjoy. You can place any leftovers in the freezer to eat at a later time. I had some Tuesday when it snowed and the leftover yesterday.
