Hello divas! I hope that you have had a great week and are getting ready for a fabulous weekend ahead. I don’t know about you but I am so thrilled that summer is finally here. While it does get quite hot here in Tennessee, I love the summer because it is a time when I can get outdoors and enjoy the world around me. And let me tell you. I spend a lot of time outdoors. Which means that I have to take step to stay healthy while I am enjoying my time outside. So today I am sharing 5 tips to stay healthier this summer.

You’ll get 20 points any time you record an activity, 250 points when you set your first goal, and 250 points when you connect a device or app. Also, Johnson & Johnson is a proud of your balance rewards for healthy choices activities. So how to I stay healthy for my summer outdoor activities? These healthy essential products go a long way to support my healthy choices to enjoy the great outdoors. And I can find them all at my local Walgreens.
Once I pick up what I need, I am ready to plan my activities. And there are many – running, hiking, taking the dog for a walk, just to name a few. Here are 5 tips for you and your family to stay healthier while you are enjoying your outdoor activities this summer and how these healthy essentials can support your healthy choices.
Protect the skin. It is very important to maintain your healthy skin in the summer. One important way of doing this is with sunscreen. I love the Neutrogena Sheer Mist SPF 70 sunscreen because it supports my healthy choice of protecting my skin. You want to protect your skin from the sun’s rays – especially if you are like me and spend a lot of time outdoors doing activities like running or hiking. You may also want to consider bug repellent (I have a great DIY version) to keep those summer pests away as well.
Remember your allergies. This may or may not apply to you or your family, but I have bad seasonal allergies. When the weather starts changing in the spring, I seem to be in a bit of a fog for several months thanks to breathing problems. Allergy medications such as Zyrtec 24 hour 10 mg tablet a day helps me to get outside on my run without worrying about if I will be able to survive an allergy attack.
Stay hydrated and fueled. While you are running, hiking or any other number of outdoor activities, it is important to stay hydrated and fuel properly. This will help keep the body working properly and cooled. It is so important to drink enough water (see how to drink more water), especially when it is hot outside as your body can dehydrate pretty quickly.
Have first aid on hand. If you are spending time outdoors, it is important to have some first aid supplies on hand. If I can, I always try to keep some Band-Aids and Neosporin nearby to help treat any cuts or scrapes that may occur during my activities.
Have fun. Lastly, remember to have fun while you are outside getting your natural vitamin D. The summer is a great time to stay fit or start a new fitness plan as there is so much you can do to get your heart rate up. Be aware of your surroundings and enjoy the great outdoors.
