Hello divas! I hope that you are having a great week so far. I am enjoying true fall weather this week so all in all it is not all that bad. One thing I am working on is trying to plan for Thanksgiving which is just around the corner. Luckily, I have a large family and we all bring something so I don’t have to plan the whole meal. But it can be hard to find something that is both healthy and that my family will want to eat. It can be especially hard if some of your favorite ingredients tend to give you heartburn from time to time. Which is why I am so thrilled to be working with Nexium® 24HR 42CT Tablets to bring you an easy healthy recipe for the holidays – my sweet and spicy roasted butternut squash and apples – without the worry of heartburn.
I didn’t use to have heartburn. I mean I could eat anything I darned well wanted without any issues. But I have found that as I have gotten older (I’m in my mid-30s), that has changed. Now I get heartburn for obvious reasons (hello spicy food) and some not so obvious reasons (coffee and donuts?!?). I don’t want to give up my favorite foods so I use Nexium® 24HR to help prevent the heartburn from starting in the first place.
One of the first things I do when I am getting ready for the holidays is to head to my local Walgreens to purchase my Nexium® 24HR so that my heartburn doesn’t ruin my holiday meals. I mean there is nothing worse than sitting down to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner and you can’t eat some of your favorite foods because you are suffering from heartburn. You can find it in the pharmacy section of the store.
The thing I love about Nexium® 24HR is that it makes it provides protection from frequent heartburn. And it makes it easy to do so. I just take one pill a day for all-day and all-night protection from the heartburn, no matter what your particular triggers for it are. This is not immediate relief, though. Nexium® 24HR may take 1-4 days to take full effect.
So with all this in mind, I thought it would be fun to share one of my favorite side dish recipes for my Thanksgiving table – my sweet and spicy roasted butternut squash and apples recipe. It is healthy, delicious, and most important – easy.
The first step is to mix the coating in a medium mixing bowl. This coating has both the sweet (maple syrup) and the spicy (cayenne pepper) as well as a bit of garlic, salt and pepper. I pour the squash, apples, pecans, and cranberries into the bowl and stir until it is all coated well.
I then spray a baking sheet/pan with some coconut oil and place the mixture on the sheet to bake. It will bake for 30 minutes.
