Hello divas. It’s finally Friday! I am so glad that the week is almost here and the weekend is just around the corner. This also means that it is time for my weekly series, 5 Things Friday, here at Divas Run for Bling.
I participate in several link-ups each week, including the Friday Five Linkup hosted by Eat Pray Run DC, Mar on the Run and You Signed Up for What, three of my favorite blogs. Each week, they suggest a theme and most weeks, I share my take on the theme. This week’s theme is “This Summer I Will…”
Improve my base fitness level. Following my spring half marathons, I realized that one thing that was lacking my races was my base fitness level. So this summer, I have a training plan that includes both my running as well as some HIIT and weight training to be in better shape before my fall half marathons.
Cross the finish line at home plate. One of the highlights of the summer will be next Saturday when I run the Braves Country 5K with my sister. The cool thing about this race is that I get to finish inside Turner Field (home of the Atlanta Braves). I am a lifelong Braves fan so this is a great thrill for me.
Attend Fitbloggin’. In a couple of weeks, I will be joining some of the most fabulous health and fitness bloggers at the Fitbloggin’ conference in Savannah, GA. This will be my first blogging conference and I am looking forward to meeting the attendees, trying out some new workouts and learning how to make my blog rock.
Run a half marathon in 3 hours. I will be running my next half marathon on September 6th in Atlanta when I run the Divas Half Marathon Peachtree City, GA. My goal and what I will be training for all summer will be to finish in around 3 hours.
Have a fabulous summer. Though I am staying close to home this summer (due to my trip to Vegas in November), I still plan to have a fabulous one. I will spend as much time with family and friends as life allows and find new experiences here in Chattanooga. I want to lose a little bit of weight, but I won’t obsess about it to the point that I forget to have some fun. And I will do it all with a smile 🙂
