Hello divas! I hope everyone had a great week last week and an even more fabulous weekend. It’s Monday which means it’s time for another weekly report here at Divas Run for Bling. Last week was pretty good. There was more racing, more recovery and some new bling. So here was the recap of the week.
The Weekly Report: April 7
Recovery. This week was another recovery week for me. I mostly just stretched and relaxed after my 2 half marathons in 6 days last week. I also didn’t want to do anything that could possibly affect me being able to do my races this week.
2 races in the same day. So a while back, I had decided to do both the Color Run Atlanta and the Glow Run 5K Chattanooga. It was great because they were a week apart – until the date for the Glow Run was changed to the exact same day as the Color Run. I decided to run both of them and had a great time. I will be doing race recaps of each of these races over the next couple of days.
Foodie Pen Pal. I participated in the Foodie Pen Pal Program during the month of March. It was so much fun and I posted about my experience this week.
Half Fanatic Number. As you have read over the past week here on Divas Run for Bling, I qualified for the Half Fanatics last weekend by running 2 half Marathons in 6 days. I am happy to say that I received my Half Fanatic number this week – #6975! Also, be sure to check out the recaps of the races that qualified me – the GA Publix Half Marathon and the Berry College Half Marathon.
Goals for next week:
- Workouts. The upcoming week will be a chance to get back on track exercise wise after several weeks of recovery and races. I plan on really focusing on my fitness level the rest of spring (with a few local, shorter races thrown in). I want to do a few more half marathons in the fall and want to get to that 3 hour completion mark. I am staring with 10 miles running this week and 2 days of strength training.
- Nutrition. With all the traveling for the races, my nutrition hasn’t been the best over the last few weeks. So I plan on getting back to clean eating where possible this week and watching the calories a little more closer.
