Hello divas and welcome to another week here at Divas Run for Bling. It’s Monday which means it is time for another edition of The Weekly Report, a chance for me to share the news and happenings of last week and set some goals for this week. So here goes.
The Weekly Report August 25
Running. It was a pretty good week for running. As you probably know, I have my first half marathon of the season in less than 2 weeks when I will be running The Divas Half Marathon in September 6th. I also will be participating in the Women’s Running Half Marathon in Nashville as a Runspirational three weeks later so it’s important that I get those miles in. I ran 11 miles this week over three days. And I finally got a long run in (8 miles) on Saturday. It ended up being slower than I had planned but we are in the middle of a heat wave here in Tennessee and the humidity is crazy so the fact that I maintained around a 16 minute/mile was great. This is the maximum time for the Divas race so I’m on track (mostly).
Fitness. While the running was great this week, the fitness was not. I was supposed to start the Beta cycle of Focus T25 and just did not get to it. I don’t have any excuses for why this didn’t happen – I just didn’t work out like I should have. Needless to say, this week will be week 1 of Beta.
Nutrition. My nutrition was up and down this week. I had some really good days and some not so good days. We ate out quite a bit over the weekend as we didn’t really have any food at home. We had a big grocery shopping trip yesterday so I am ready to cook at home all week.
- Running. I want at least 3 days of running again, preferably 4 if I can manage it. I plan on about a 10 mile or so long run this weekend in final preparation for the Divas race.
- Fitness. I will get my week 1 of Beta T25 in this week. This should put me at 5-6 days of working out.
- Nutrition. Thanks to our grocery shopping trip, we have fresh veggies and yummy items for some fun home cooked meals this week. I want to eat at home each day this week and avoid the drive thru.
