Are you looking to lead a healthier lifestyle but don’t think there is enough time in the day to do so? Do you want to get in shape or eat a healthy diet but have no idea WHERE to start? Love all the healthy recipes you see online but don’t feel like you have the time to prepare them for your family? If these sound like you then I am here to help.
My name is Heather and I am a health and fitness coach, runner, fitness instructor, accountability partner, lover of chocolate and all things sweet, southern girl and Disney fanatic blogging here at Divas Run for Bling where I share my journey to live a fit and healthy lifestyle in today’s busy world and how you can do the same in your own life. I live in Chattanooga, TN with my wonderful husband and three pets (I like to refer to them as fur children). I have 2 cats and a 10lb. chihuahua named Dixie who thinks she’s human.
Growing up, I was always active. I was a cheerleader and soccer player through high school and never had any major health issues. In my 20s, I slowed down quite and bit and gained quite a bit of weight. But I didn’t see myself as unhealthy until I went for a visit to the doctor shortly after I turned 30 to discover that I had high blood pressure. I immediately started cutting calories and getting active. I started walking, going to yoga several times a week. I lost 30 lbs. doing this. But it didn’t last.
After initially losing my weight, I simply going back to my habits from my 20s. Eating lots of food high in fat and calories and not working out regularly. In early 2012 when my best friend, Chris, was finally able to convince me to try running out, telling me I would love it. Well he was right and I have been running ever since (12 half marathons and counting!). I love the freedom of being outdoors and the places I have gotten to travel to when heading to a race. I started this blog in the fall of 2013 to share my running journey with others.
In summer 2014, I attended the Fitbloggin conference where I met my fitness coach Kat. She got me hooked on Insanity and I immediately worked through Focus T25 and Insanity Max30 along with my running to get into the best shape of my life. But I was not eating healthy until the spring of 2015 when I completed the 21 Day Fix for the first time. It helped me to finally set some healthy habits of working out regularly and eating whole foods to not just lose weight but to fuel my body the way it is supposed to be.
In the summer of 2015, I decided to become a health and fitness coach myself to share what I have learned along the way to help others lead the healthy lifestyle they were meant to. I have continued to run regularly as well as complete several workout programs from home, including my soulmate program CIZE which I am now an instructor for.
While I haven’t lost a whole lot of weight, I have toned my body and built muscles that I never thought I would. I eat a pretty healthy diet and have decreased my stress level. I have stopped the cycle of yo-yo dieting to be in the best health since before college. And more importantly, my blood pressure has been in the normal range.
