Hello divas! I hope that you had a fabulous start to your week. Mine has been pretty good so far. Though I am already counting down the days to the weekend.
One of my favorite things about fall is when all the apples start to come in. Every year, my family and I take a day trip to buy fresh apples from the orchards and this coming weekend is when we will be doing it this year. I am so excited.
So to prepare myself for my trip, I thought I would share another easy healthy recipe featuring apples that is perfect for this time of year – my peanut butter apple pie smoothie.
As you probably have seen in several of my healthy recipes here at Divas Run for Bling, I am a big fan of peanut butter. But sometimes it can be a little difficult to use in those recipes. This is where peanut butter powder comes into play. It makes adding peanut butter to recipes a snap as it is easier to measure and blend.
The recipe itself is easy to make. You simply start by chopping up a couple of your favorite type of apples. I chose Granny Smith for this recipe but I also like Arkansas Black, Macintosh or Pink Lady apples as well. From there you put the apple slices into a blender and add some milk. For this, I really like vanilla almond milk but any milk would work. I added a scoop of vanilla protein powder (I use the Vanilla Shakeology as my powder of choice), 2 tablespoons of my favorite peanut butter powder (though any nut butter works), and 1 tablespoon of some pumpkin pie spice. I blended this mixture until smooth, added a bit of ice to make it a frozen drink and poured it into my glass to enjoy.
