Hi divas. I hope that your week has been progressing well. Mine has been pretty good so far. I have been trying to get organized for summer and have been planning for a fun Mother’s Day weekend ahead with family.
One of my favorite times of year has started which makes me super excited. Why you may ask? Because it’s been the start of baseball season. I have been a fan of the game practically since I was born. I am a Georgia girl born and raised and have been a devoted Atlanta Braves fan all my life – including when they weren’t so good. I married a proud member of the Red Sox Nation so needless to say my spring, summer and early fall revolves around watching America’s pastime (be sure to check out my 25+ healthy game time recipes for when you’re watching your fave team). Heck the hubby and I even had our wedding reception at a minor league baseball game here in Chattanooga.
So today I thought it would be fun to share a new workout from home using one of my favorite sports – my baseball cardio and strength training workout.
I am always trying to find creative ways to exercise while enjoying my love for sports. Just check out my Superbowl Kettlebell Workout and my March Madness Strength Training Workout (which will also work during the upcoming NBA Playoffs in which my Atlanta Hawks are in again this year). Since I do spend most evenings during the summer watching our favorite teams play ball, I have decided to come up with a fun way to combine my love for the game with my need to stay fit and healthy.
I designed this routine to be a full body workout. You can choose how you want do this work. You can do the exercises for an entire game or just a few innings if you are just beginning your exercise regimen. The strength exercises can be done with or without weights. I prefer kettlebells, but hand weights should work as well. And remember to have fun!
