Hello divas and happy Friday! Another week has come and gone and it is time for the weekend. This will be a super busy weekend for me so be sure to stay tuned on social media for all the photos and fun.
It is Friday which means that it is time for another edition of 5 Things Friday. This is the first full weekend of fall so today I want to share some of my favorite activities fall activities. I just love everything about the season – the food, the cooler weather, the fabulous clothes (yea for scarves and boots!), the football (see my workout to stay in shape while cheering your favorite team) and the time spent with family. So here is why fall is fabulous.
Racing. I know that I can run at any time, but fall has some of the best races. The weather here in Tennessee is amazing during fall and many of the locations are absolutely gorgeous with the leaves changing colors. I can’t wait to share some of my fall races with all of you.
Food. Oh the food. I love nothing more than curling up on the couch with a bowl of my favorite soup, chili or stew (see my Skinny Brunswick Stew recipe). Not to mention pumpkin everything. I do love me some pumpkin.
Apples. Speaking of food, the other food of the season is a big, juicy apple. My family and I always head to Ellijay, GA during the first couple of weeks of October and get apples straight from the orchard. Then I come home and make some homemade applesauce and caramel apple jam and can it for the rest of the year (and Christmas gifts). Look for some of these recipes over the next couple of months.
Hiking. My hubby and I love to go hiking. It just gets way to hot to do so during the late spring and summer. But in fall, the leaves are changing and the weather makes it possible to go for a hike and see some sites.
Trick or Treat. My hubby and I do not have children yet, but we are lucky enough to live in a neighborhood that has trick or treaters. So we love to dress up (us and the 10 lb. chihuahua) and hand out candy.
