Hi everyone. I usually post my Weekly Report on Mondays, but as this is the first Monday on March, I will be posting my This Month in Review for February. I will return to my usual Weekly Report next week.
I can’t believe February is already over. It just seemed to fly by and so much happened, including here at Divas Run for Bling. So here is February In Review.
Exercise. This month had both good and bad aspects when it came to my workouts. I only managed 25 miles over the month which is rather low considering the half marathons coming up this month. However, I did successfully add some cross training and strength training about twice a week this month which has helped my running.
14 in 2014. I participated in 2 races this month. The Snowball Shuffle 8K Virtual Race sponsored by Run with Jess. I completed this virtual race around my neighborhood in 1:09:15. A little slow, but not too bad. I also ran in the Scenic City Half Marathon here in Chattanooga. However, due to some stomach issues, I was unable to complete the race.
MNB Challenge. I also completed the Move Nourish Believe Blogger Challenge sponsored through Lorna Jane Athletic and Fit Approach. It was great fun where I completed challenges each day related to the three themes: Move, Nourish and Believe. At the end of each week, I wrote a recap of each of the challenges.You can read about week 1’s theme, Move; week 2’s theme, Nourish; and week 3’s theme, Believe.
Snow Days. This month we had snow here in TN. The first snow day was only about 1/2 an inch but it kept me in traffic for almost 5 hours trying to get home! The second snow ended with about 7 inches at my house. It was so much fun as we don’t get a whole lot of the white stuff usually.
Favorite Recipes. Every Thursday I shared some of my favorite recipes. In case you missed them, check out my Spaghetti with Breadcrumbs, Very Berry Protein Smoothie, and Crockpot Drunk Deer (or beef) Chili recipes.
Product Reviews. I also had the chance to review Ignite Natural’s IN Refresh Electrolytes and MASH Up Conditioning’s TEMPO workout dvd. Check out the reviews if you haven’t yet and then check out these fabulous products.
Social media and new page design. This month I was able to really work on my blog branding. I hired Tasha from My Cute Lobster Designs to redesign Divas Run for Bling as well as include a new logo, Facebook cover, profile picture and Twitter Cover. I also started a Pinterest page and Google+ page for the blog. Be sure to follow me to keep up with the goings on here at Divas Run for Bling.
Upcoming in March
14 in 2014. I have 3 races planned for this month. I will be running the GA Publix Half Marathon in Atlanta on March 23rd, the Berry College Half Marathon in Rome, GA on March 29th and the Spring Fling Virtual Race sponsored by Fitness, Health and Happiness between March 20th and March 27th.
Mileage. I am hoping for at least 50 miles of running this month. If I can complete all my races, this should be no problem.
Half Fanatics. I will be running 2 half marathons in 6 days at the end of the month. This will qualify me for membership with the Half Fanatics. I’m super excited.
