The Football HIIT Workout

June 29, 2019 by divas Leave a Comment

Hello divas! I hope that your week has been going well so far. I am still recovering from PiYo teacher training on Sunday but I am starting to feel better which is good. I plan on getting back on the fitness wagon later today for sure.

I know I for one am super glad that August is finally here. This means that the start of my favorite season is coming up in just a few weeks. No, I don’t mean fall. I am talking about football season. I am a southern girl born and raised and growing up in the south you learn to love the game. Saturdays and Sundays are always blocked off to watch your favorite team on the gridiron.

But that also means hours are spent sitting on the couch watching the games. So I thought I would come up with a way to combine 2 of my favorite things, watching football and fitness into one of my fun workouts from home. Check out this football HIIT workout while you are watching your favorite team.

Now I know that many of you out there may not love football as I do. And that’s okay. If your partner is a fan, however, you may have to spend some time with football on the tv at some point this season. So why not get a little exercise in when this happens? If you have read this blog regularly, you know that I am a huge fan of high intensity interval workouts. I have shared the benefits of HIIT as well as several HIIT workouts on Divas Run for Bling.

These are all easy workouts that allow you to get both strength and cardio training in a short period of time. You can do as little or as much as you can and still get a good workout. Oh and they are great for cross-training 🙂

This football HIIT workout is no different. It is based around some of the calls and plays that happen on the football field. You can choose to do it for a portion of the quarter, a whole quarter, half or even the entire game if you so desire.

Many of these moves are simple in nature and can be modified for less or more intensity depending on your own fitness needs. You can even add weights to some of these (such as squats, calf raises, russian twists) if you want. It is totally customizable to you!
