Hello divas and happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well so far. Mine is going pretty well so far. Today is one of my favorite days of the year, the National Running Day. This is a day where I can share my love to run, why you should take up running and why I particularly love my half marathons. One thing I have learned along my running journey is that running can be loads of fun and you can still be fabulous even when you are sweating like a pig. So today I am sharing 5 ways to run like a diva.
Pretty clothes. The first thing you need to run a half marathon like a diva is pretty clothing. You will want to wear something that is colorful, fun and comfortable. Be sure that the fabric is super breathable. I love a great skirt when I run to give a bit of a feminine touch to my outfit. Adding a tutu or running costume of some sort is a great idea. A tutu can just be slipped on over whatever you would typically run in anyway.
I am a HUGE fan of the new spring and summer lines of Eleven by Venus Williams. They are fabulous. And my readers can get 10% off with the code TEAM11HEATHERH!
Fabulous shoes. Related to the super cute outfit are fabulous shoes. What girl doesn’t love shoes right? You will want to make sure your running shoes are right for your feet. A bad fitting pair of shoes will cause all kinds of problems for the lower part of your body. I personally love my Newton Motion IIIs. They are great for mileage, helping me keep my form correct and are oh so cute.
Fuel smart. So if you are running a medium and long distances, you will need some food of some sort along the way to keep your energy up you moving along. I love my Huma chia gels as they are yummy and easy on my stomach. And don’t forget the hydration if you are running for distance.
Diva playlist. To help me feel fabulous while I run, I have my own diva playlist on my phone. All of the tunes are totally diva – from some country to 80s to Lady Gaga. It’s all about the girl power for me.
A big smile and happy attitude. Above all, be sure to smile and have a happy attitude. Yes running longer distances can be hard but it can also be fun. And don’t forget to strike a pose when you see the photographers 🙂
