Hello divas! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. Mine was really boring lol. It was so hot that I stayed indoors for most of the weekend and just relaxed. And got caught up on emails, blogging, social media, etc.
I looked at the calendar, though, and realized something important. College and pro football seasons are only a few weeks away. Seriously. Now you know that I am a HUGE sports fan. It really doesn’t matter which sport you are talking about. I will probably be watching it – football, basketball, baseball, hockey, you name it. But as a southern girl born and raised, I have a soft spot for all things football and I am counting down the days until it all starts back.
This also means that I am a big fan of tailgating. There are so many yummy ways to make healthy tailgating snacks for the game – including today’s fun and easy healthy recipe. No matter which game you are watching, be sure to celebrate it with a batch of my Mango Avocado Salsa with homemade baked tortilla chips.
I love tailgating. It is such a fun time to hang out with friends and enjoy my favorite sports. Also, I love tailgating food. It’s so easy to make and super portable to eat. But we all know that it is not always the healthiest food around. While it is delicious when following the game and eating, it can set you back a bit on the healthy eating front. So I am always trying to find ways to have my favorite tailgating foods without all the excess fat and calories.
This fun recipe is a homemade salsa with lots of good fruits and veggies in it, including some avocados. It is super easy to make – just chop up the ingredients and mix together. I baked some homemade tortilla chips with a little extra virgin olive oil and a few spices to share with the salsa and it was an instant hit.
