Hello divas! I hope that your week has gotten off to a great start so far. It’s Tuesday here at Divas Run for Bling which mean’s it’s time for another edition of Tuesdays on the Run. This is when I share a running related post and link up with my girls at Run the Great Wide Somewhere, MCM Mama Runs and My No Guilt Life. Since it is the beginning of the year, I thought today would be a great time to share my race plans for 2015.
If you have had a chance to ready my goals of 2015, you know that I have set a couple of running goals for this year. I want to run a half marathon in under 3 hours and I want to run 2 half marathons in 2 days. I have decided not to plan any races past the first of July as I am hoping to start IVF this summer and don’t know what I will be able to do come fall. But I have several fun races planned for the spring racing season that I am thrilled about.
Hot Chocolate 15K Atlanta. I loved it so much last year that I am back to run the Hot Chocolate 15K Atlanta again this year. With the exception of the cold January weather, this is a super fun race and there is even a medal this year.
Berry College Half. Another repeat race will be the Berry College Half Marathon in Rome, GA. I adored this race last year as it was a chance to run my alma mater and qualified me for the Half Fanatics. It’s only appropriate that it will be one of the races to help me finish my 2 halfs in 2 days goal.
Covenant Health Knoxville Half. The Covenant Health Knoxville Half will be the 2nd half in 2 days for me. It will be super fun as it runs through Knoxville, TN and by the TN river to finish at the 50 yard line of Neyland Stadium, home of the Tennessee Vols. While I am not a big Tennessee fan (I’m a GA girl through and through), I do work for the University of Tennessee Chattanooga campus which makes this race pretty cool.
Kentucky Derby Half. The Kentucky Derby Half will be the highlight of my spring racing schedule. My hubby is actually buying my registration for my birthday in a couple of weeks and we will be making a mini-vacation out of the trip to Louisville, KY. I am super excited because runners get to run through the city of Louisville and Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. And it will be my 6th state on my lifelong quest to run a half in all 50 states.
Peachtree Road Race. Thanks to my Atlanta Track Club membership, I will be able to register for the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta on July 4th. I am so super excited about this as it is only a 10K but it is one of the biggest (and oldest) in the country. Growing up in the Atlanta area, this is a very popular and famous race that I am so excited to finally participate in.
Various 5Ks. I haven’t decided on any other races as of yet, but I am sure that I will be adding some 5Ks along the way. Being a huge sports fan, I am hoping to run the Atlanta Hawks 5K (my fave NBA team) and possibly some smaller local races. We will have to wait and see what pops up.
