Hello divas! I hope that you have had a fabulous week and are looking forward to a wonderful weekend ahead. I am thrilled as I get some professional training this weekend and a workout with one of my fave celebrity trainers. And spend some time with the fam.
One thing that is on my mind this week is fall. And with fall some yummy side dishes that are perfect for your table – especially your Thanksgiving table. Specifically I have been trying to start planning for what I will be bringing to to my family’s dinner this year.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, but it is also a time when I tend to overindulge in all the yummy goodness that is Thanksgiving dinner. So this year, I have been searching for some of the best easy healthy recipes and healthy Thanksgiving dishes to prepare so that I can enjoy the holiday but not kill my diet. Today I am sharing 25+ Thanksgiving Side Dishes for a Healthy Holiday.
I just love Thanksgiving with my family. It’s a time to catch up and bond over our favorite thing – food. I am a southern girl born and raised, however. Which means that not all of the dishes are the healthiest options. Now I do splurge a bit on the holidays, but I try to eat healthy when I can.
For instance, I love my grandmother’s green beans. But she tends to cook them with enough salt to really affect your sodium levels. So I like to make my balsamic parmesan green beans instead.
When I think fall, one of the first things I think of is apples. I love apples. And even better, they go really well with sweet potatoes. For a healthier option to the traditional candied apples and sweet potatoes, try my honey whiskey apple and sweet potato bake.
Here in the south, we also like things a bit on the spicy side. For those like me, check out my sweet and spicy butternut squash and apples for a flavorful but healthy side dish.
I am not the only one with healthy side dish ideas. Check out some of these to make your Thanksgiving holiday just a bit healthier.
