Disclosure: I received a free box of Vega Sport Protein Bars for review in conjunction with their Fuel Your Better Campaign. The opinions and experiences are all mine.
Hello divas! The weekend has finally arrived and I have a special post for you today. A couple months ago, I had the opportunity to apply to review a Vega Sport product as part of their Fuel Your Better campaign through my Sweat Pink Ambassadorship with Fit Approach. I chose to review the Vega Sport Protein bars and received a box in Chocolate Mint to review and share with my readers.
These protein bars are designed to give your muscles the protein they crave. Recharge and repair with Vega Sport Protein Bar post-workout, so you can do it all again, sooner. As with other Vega products, the bars are Non-GMO, gluten-free and made without artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners. Some nutritional highlights for the bars include:
- 15 grams protein. Complete, multisource plant-based protein from whole grain brown rice and pea protein give your muscles the protein they need (and deserve).
- 2.5 grams BCAAs. Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) help to transition your muscles from a catabolic (breaking muscle down during exercise) to anabolic (rebuilding) stage. Each bar contains 2.5 grams of plant-based BCAAs.
- 2 grams glutamine. Glutamine is an amino acid that not only helps to rebuild muscle tissue, but also helps to support your immune system after periods of physical stress (like working out).
- 1 g Omega-3.
The bars come in chocolate coconut, chocolate peanut butter and chocolate mint flavors.
I received a box of the chocolate mint flavored bars. I have to say that I really liked them. The mint flavor was a little strong, but I love chocolate mint so they were perfect. They are also the perfect size for a post-workout snack to recharge and repair your muscles or to throw in a purse or bag for an on-the-go snack or meal replacement. The nutritional content for the chocolate mint flavor is:
I tried these bars both as a mid-afternoon snack at work and as a post-workout recovery snack. My muscles recovered well after my runs and I was able to recharge and prepare for my next workout easier. I really loved these bars as a mid-afternoon snack at work. I know that I don’t always get enough protein in my diet and tend to get really hungry by mid-afternoon at work. I ate a bar at about 3pm and it kept me full until time for dinner. I also know that I got the appropriate amount of protein for the day with the help of this bar.
I love hearing from my readers! What do you do to recharge and recover after a workout?
