It’s the new year which means things are returning to normal around here. This means that today is the return of The Weekly Report – the weekly update on what I accomplished last week and my goals for the upcoming week.
Total Mileage: 10.6 miles. Better than it has been but I am not completely caught up on my training for the half marathon yet. The good news is I did run my long run of 4 miles on New Year’s Day in 53:22 (13:19 minutes/mile)- the fastest I’ve ever done 4 miles!
Number of Days I worked out: 4. Each of these days were running.
Run This Year Challenge Update. I am participating in the Run This Year Challenge through Matters of Course. I have committed to running 2014 kilometers this year (1251.4 miles). To date, I have run 8.4 miles. Ick..I’m a little behind.
Ran Karen Lawrence Run for St. Jude. On New Year’s Eve, I did the 2.2 mile fun run portion of the Karen Lawrence Run for St. Jude. My final time was 29:24 (13:27 minutes/mile). You can see the review of the race here.
- I am beginning the Winter Miles Challenge sponsored through Run With Jess. As it begins today, my mileage goal for the week is to run 14 miles.
- I am aiming to run 5 days this week.
- I want to start adding some weight training and/or yoga into workout schedule. This will work really well on the days I do shorter 2 mile runs.
- Also beginning today is the Make A Change Challenge sponsored through Fitness Health and Happiness. For the next 21 days I will give up one thing diet related. I have chosen to give up fast food as it is a weakness of mine. I am hoping to cook more at home which will make my diet healthier.
